02/20/09 - Dh 1.2 billion hotel project on the Palm Jumeirah has started

The Habtoor Island Resort & Spa will be the 7th hotel property under Habtoor Hotel’s management expected to open in 2010.
The resort, to be built by Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprises, will feature 217 rooms and suites, 91 luxurious apartments and four exclusive villas. The rooms and suites will be spread out, some with private swimming pools and gardens, and all with natural tropical plant barriers. The food & Beverage facilities include 10 themed restaurants and bars, including a floating seafood restaurant and rooftop fine dining restaurant. Conference and banquet facilities include two ballrooms, multi-functional rooms and fitted boardrooms.
